About Cristina Caldwell
Certified Sports Nutritionist, Exercise Physiologist, Endurance Coach, Athlete
Life is an adventure. Live every day to the fullest! This personal and professional motto inspires me and my clients to enjoy life, do your best in every moment, and take advantage of all life has to offer along the way.
I believe if you truly love something or set out to achieve a goal, you should go all in! For as long as I can remember, I have been an athlete. Swimming, soccer, tennis, softball, skiing, you name it, I did it. Swimming was my main passion, and one that carried me into a Division 1 program at Miami University. While in school, I realized that the field of exercise physiology and nutrition was where I wanted to be. After graduating with a degree in Exercise Physiology/Nutrition, I knew that I wanted to help athletes achieve success. From coaching swimming to both age groupers and master swimmers, owning a triathlon shop, being an assistant professor in exercise physiology, writing meal and race day fuel plans for marathoners, ultra marathoners, swimmers, triathletes, cyclists and coaching endurance athletes, I’ve covered a lot of ground. I’ve worked with athletes of all abilities. From Boston Qualifiers, professional triathletes and Olympic athletes, to age group athletes looking for the edge. I am a recent graduate of the International Olympic Committee’s rigorous two-year diploma in sports nutrition, while at the same time pursuing my Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology and Sports Nutrition.
Just as I’m passionate about nutrition, training and racing, I have a passion for making healthy food taste good. Growing up, I watched my mom, my grandma and my brother in the kitchen. To me, food meant family, friends and love. Following in their footsteps, I loved creating decadent desserts and rich Italian dishes. As my swimming career progressed, I began to realize that food was also a fuel, and one that could really help me to improve as an athlete. My rich and decadent foods turned into, “how can I make this amazing dish, healthier while still tasting good?” This is now what I give to my family and you. My love of science and cooking go into creating and analyzing these delicious recipes so that you receive the exact balance of macronutrients and calories that you need to recharge your body, while fueling your athletic success.
Being able to do what I love while putting my family first is, for me, the key to happiness. I’m so thankful and blessed to have an amazing husband and two playful and exuberant Rhodesian Ridgebacks. They make my life full of joy, love and add a bit of craziness. In my spare time you’ll find me racing triathlons, running races (trails are my favorite), open water swimming, cycling, stand up paddle boarding and participating in any adventure race that comes my way. I’m always up for a challenge!
It is my mission to help as many fellow athletes as possible achieve their goals, while enjoying the ride.
